Janis Ellison was born in California and has lived and traveled extensively throughout the western states. Janis taught Special Education for 39 years and is becoming a popular pastel teacher at Central Art Supply in Medford where she shares her knowledge, skills, techniques and passion for Pastel painting. She is most inspired by the landscape and paints plein air whenever she can, traveling extensively in the spring, summer and fall. Her honors include IAPS Master Circle, signature membership in PSA, PSWC, SPS, NPS, and Master Pastelist with PSO. She has been published in Pastel Journal and Southwest Art.
