May – Steve & Sue Bennett: “AWESOME OREGON”: Steve and Sue Bennett were born in Oregon, have lived most of their lives in Oregon and have enjoyed painting Oregon scenes for the last 30 years. Most paintings for this show are favorite scenes around Oregon: The Rogue Valley, the Steens, Central Oregon and the Oregon Coast. Both Steve and Sue have garnered many awards from exhibits, invitations to museum show and have collectors who enjoy their work, but the foremost reason we paint is because we love the relationships with other artists and translating the visual beauty into a painted personal statement. For Steve and Sue Bennett, art is another dimension to the joyful journey of life, and Oregon offers much joy!
June – Marge Heilman: “Passages” Works in oil, pastel and watercolor depicting my travels and the landscapes and artifacts that invited me to paint them.
July – Judy Elliott: “Wild Cranes” Hand painted Silk “My inspiration for painting on silk is influenced by my experience while growing up in Hawaii with a family who appreciated art, music, exotic cultures and a love of nature, as well as my observations of nature while hiking throughout Oregon. I’ve always been fascinated with nature and it’s wonders, from the tiniest insects and wild birds to the night sky. In this showing, I’ve decided to feature wild cranes and water birds in their natural habitat. The natural world influences my art directly and pleases my soul.”
August – Judy Richardson: “Journey” Life has taken me on a journey that fuels my love of art; from viewing masterworks, to painting with friends, all of my experiences enrich my appreciation and love of creating paintings. Each of my paintings require a journey from concept to expression. I invite you to share my journey and adventures through my paintings!
September – Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass : ”Waking Dreams” Recent Watermedia Works in Abstraction by Rogue Valley Artist, Lynda Hoffman-Snodgrass.
October – Gloria Kastenburg : “Travels”. This is a show comprised of recent works from travels to Italy, Mexico, Santa Fe and Cuba that captures the light, drama and atmosphere of these places in both oil and water colors. Some paintings include the people and are imbued with the flavor of my travels.
November – Kay Myer: Serendipity means “good luck in finding valuable things unintentionally -making discoveries through chance”. This is me! It best describes my daily painting journey in watercolor as I never paint from a photograph for a realistic transfer. What evolves is what I have seen or felt, not what I “know” is there. Although I have painted for many years and my work hangs in many states in the USA and also internationally, I don’t have a long summary of credentials to list.
My accolades are the countless daily hours of the pure joy of painting and the inner peace has been my ultimate reward. What a crown to wear!
