“From the Tide Pools to the Stars”

Come enjoy this show between July 1st and July 28th at Art & Soul Gallery

First Friday Reception: July 5 from 5 – 8 pm

Music by Pianist Anthony Bock

“From the Tide Pool to the Stars” is a quote from John Steinbeck’s “The Log from the Sea of Cortez (1951; Penguin Books):  “… all things are one thing and that one thing is all things – plankton, a shimmering phosphorescence on the sea and the spinning planets and an expanding universe, all bound together by the  elastic string of time.  It is advisable to look from the tide pool to the stars and then back to the tide pool again.”

Being in nature is everything to me … so it is no surprise that the natural world is my subject. I paint tide pools, starry skies, and the wild animals and plants between. In this exhibit, you will see paintings depicting my interpretation of nature: an attempt to capture its essence without copying it exactly. I want to get past the obvious — to reflect on why many of us find being outside in nature soothing to our souls. Whether this is conveying the power behind a falcon’s gaze, the wonder of the vast number and variety of creatures that live in a tide pool, or the majesty of redwoods reaching straight and tall into the sun, I hope to capture something that will inspire us to connect more deeply with the natural world.

      Hello Joann(a) ?

Yes, of course we can ship one of these prints to you. Currently we have giclee prints on paper, 11 x 14 image size with a signed and titled mat at 16 x 20 inches. The cost for this matted print is $75. Packaging will be a flat $10 and shipping will depend on your address.
I can of course ship you an unmated print in a tube to save on packaging and shipping.

If you’d prefer to have a different size print or a giclee on canvas we can talk about those options as well.

Please let me know how you would like to proceed and if it’s convenient for you, let’s transfer this conversation to the gallery’s regular email account, info@artandsoulgallery.com.

I’m Peter Stone, the owner at Art & Soul Gallery.
I look forward to assisting you further.
