“Lithia Park and Beyond”

Featured Artist For April
For 100 years, 1916-2016, Lithia park has delighted visitors and residents of the city of Ashland. The park encompasses all that is possible in a park, celebrating beauty while bringing people close to nature and wildlife. It is home to many celebrations, concerts, 4th of July holidays, ballets, ice skating, weddings, and the temporary home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival when the need arises. It is the beloved heart of the city, resplendent in every season. As an artist, the park never fails to inspire. It calls me to paint it.
I try to capture and preserve beauty where ever I see it, whether it be in the landscape, figures, or scenes of everyday life. In this show, I am celebrating the beauty of our natural world. Close to home, that is Lithia Park, further afield, it includes the Oregon coast, mountains, farmlands, and national parks. Enjoy!
